My own magazine cover

I had fun at MagMyPic, but I realised that I wanted to be able to make up my own text as well as simply put a photo in behind.
So, I'm not sure if this will actually count for the challenge over at Digital Doodling, but I had fun and this is what I came up with :)

Magazine Cover

Create Fake Magazine Covers with your own picture at MagMyPic.com

This is our kitty Emma, taken last Christmas, and I made the magazine cover at MagMyPic.com (click on the image to take you there.
This is for the current challenge over at Wendy's Digital Doodling, to create your own magazine cover. It's really really easy, so go on and have a play :)

Vintage Valentine

Hell0 again :)
While browsing through the challenges on the Daily Dare, I came across one that was to make a vintage valentine card. I really liked the idea, and I knew the image I wanted to use. Now hubby is as enthusuastic as he can be about my crafting, but he's not going to appreciate a vintage valentine card. So, I decided to make this a digital project. I know some challenge blogs that definitely do accept digital work, but there are many more that don't mention it, so I don't know if this will disqualify me from some of the challenges. If I've entered your challenge and you don't allow digital entries, please accept my apologies.
The lady image is from Art Freebies, the butterfly is from DezinaWorld, I did the vine in PSP with a script by Daisy Doodles, formerly known as Jules' Junk, and the rest is entirely my own.

So I was on a ission to find other challenges that I could combine with a vintage valentine, and I found a few.
Our Creative Corner is having a sketch challenge.
The Inky Impressions challenge is to include pink and hearts in your piece.
The Belli Challenge is to use hearts.
The Treehouse Challenge blog has asked for work that includes a flower and a butterfly.
The Cuttlebug challenge is to create a Vintage Valentine.
The Diva Coffee Break blog are having a colour challenge, to use Chocolate Chip, Taken with Teal, Regal Rose and Old Olive. And there's an extra on their challenge this week, if you enter after having seen my post, could you please let them know by mentioning it on Mr Linky, because I'll hopefully get a freebie :D
And last but by no means least, the Magical Crafts Fortnightly Challenge blog is having a Valentine's themed challenge.

Fairy card

Hello all :)
Really short on text just now, here's a card I made for the following challenges. The beautiful fairy silhouette is by Stitchy Stamps, and you can buy it here

The Cricut Cardz challenge is to make a Valentine card using only lavender, green, black and white.

The Flutter By Wednesday challenge is open, but as always your piece must include a fairy, butterfly or angel.

There's a sketch challenge going on over at My Grafico Challenges, and I followed it but added on the sentiment and gems. PLEASE NOTE: I hadn't read the part about freebie Grafico images being available to use, but I'm going to download and have a play :)

And the Creative Inspirations blog is having a feminine-themed challenge this week.

Thanks so much for stopping by :)

Birthday card for 3 challenges

I made this card today with three different challenges in mind. The stamp is a digi from Jules' Junk aka Daisy Doodles, I did the papers and sentiment in PSP and the brads are Papermania, I think.

The very first challenge over at the Digital Ink Co. is up and running, and the challenge is to use babies or pets, birthday, and the colours red green blue and yellow with one neutral! This was a really tough colour combo for me, lol, no purple in sight :P You can enter this challenge as many times as you like, all you have to do is
1. Follow the blog
2. Upload a picture of the prizes with a link back to Digital Ink Co. (see sidebar)
3. make a project that fits the challenge theme and let them know about it.

The challenge at the Digital Tuesday blog is to make a funny male card, and since I was thinking of giving this to an older bald man, I hope it would make him laugh :D

And the challenge over at the Spoonful of Sugar blog is Freestyle, just to keep things nice and easy.

Thanks very much for stopping by :)

Entry for DezinaWorld spot prize

June has such beautiful images over at DezinaWorld, please pop over and have a look, you'll be delighted. And she's also running two challenges currently, so what are you waiting for? This one is an entry into the Spot Prize challenge.
I made this digital 4x4 using a free image from the DezinaWorld blog and some elements from other sets June has released, and some bits I did in PSP. The frame is by Adeyeo, and I think it was a freebie as well, but I'm not sure.

Donkey card

Hello everyone :)
I have to say, I'm really having fun combining challenges at the moment, lol, it amuses me greatly to have to fit lots of different requirements on a single piece ;)
The image is from Sew Many Cards, I did the papers in PSP, the black card was cut from the backing of a template I bought (should have entered a recycling challenge too :P) and the sentiment was hand-written and embossed.
So, without furyher ado, this card was made to fit into the following challenges:

The Spoonful of Sugar challenge is lots of layering, and, lol, I've used loads here.

The Crafty Pad challenge is Animals. Oops, I just realised that I'm too late for this challenge :(

The Sew Many Cards challenge is to use the colours purple, white and a splash of black

The Delightful Sketch blog is on Sketch 15

The Paperplay challenge is to use your own handwriting, lol, how scary was this one? And since I used a clear embossing marker to write on to black glossy card, I couldn't see what I'd written, which is why I decided to go for as short a sentiment as possible ;)

And one of the current challenges on the Creations by JJ forum is to be inspired by this quote "I'm late, I'm late, for a very important date" I'll be using this card as a belated birthday card, lol, see above post for why the sentiment isn't "Sorry I forgot your birthday!"

Hello everyone, this was the free digi I got in last week's Digital Ink Co newsletter, and if you sign up, you get a free image every week. This one was created by Beary Dust, and if you click on the name it will take you to her blog :)
I made the card with three challenges in mind
Digital Tuesday Challenge is a sketch to follow.
Papertake Weekly is PINK
and the Allsorts challenge is PINK and BROWN

Karen Who? Karen's Doodles!

You may not have heard about this lady (well, I hadn't, but I do tend to be a little behind with things :P) but Karen's Doodles is a new digi stamp blog and she has such cute images, it's well worth a pop along to browse through. And, because she's only been open for two months and has already reached 400 followers, Karen is offering a chance to get a free digi of your own choice!
Woooohoooooo! I have my eye on that BEEE_YOOOOO_TIFUL Princess Kitty. So, what are you waiting for? Go have a look, become a follower, grab the blinkie and spread the love :D

LotsToDo challenge - Travel

The current challenge over on the LotsToDo blog is Travel, and I've been thinking about this for several days now, but I just couldn't figure out what I wanted to do.
After seeing June's lovely collage bookmark here, I knew I wanted to a collage piece as well, but didn't get any further than that.
And then, while I was browsing the web for inspiration, I came across this quote by John Muir (21 April 1838 - 24 December 1914, an American environmentalist, naturalist, traveler, writer, and scientist.)
"This grand show is eternal. It is always sunrise somewhere; the dew is never all dried at once; a shower is forever falling; vapor ever rising. Eternal sunrise, eternal sunset, eternal dawn and gloaming, on seas and continents and islands, each in its turn, as the round earth rolls."
After that, I wanted a map to go behind the text, and then I added in other bits from my digital collection. The boot comes from The Graphics Fairy, the clock is a PSP brush adapted from chokingonstatic's abr file, the rose vine is a script by Jules Junk and I can't remember where the ticket came from, I'm sorry.

Thanks so much for stopping by, hope you like my piece :)

Hello!

This cute little character is from a new set of digi-stamps over at Lily-Boo's Boutique, pop over and see some of the lovely digi sets she has available.
I made this card with a few challenges in mind, so here goes:

The Paper Sundaes blog is hosting its first challenge with a lovely sketch for you to follow.

The Corrosive Challenge blog is having a Let's Go Digi challenge. As you know, I love digital stamps, so this was right up my alley :D

The current Incy Wincy challenge is Colour Me Wonderful, and all you have to do is colour something in and then say what medium you used. Mine was coloured digitally in PSP.

The Crafty Pad challenge is Animals, so I think my little kitty and mouse fit perfectly.

One stitch at a time - new challenge blog

Sam and Stitchy have started up a new challenge blog and asked me to be on the DT! LOL, I knew they were both a bit bonkers, but I had no idea how deep the madness ran!
The challenges will officially start on Valentine's Day, and let's face it, most of our partners manage NOT to spoil us silly and shower us with gifts and complimets, so now you have something to take your mind off how unworthy your other half is, just come along to the blog, join in the challenge and feel all the crafty love flowing :D

One Stich At A Time challenge blog

So, here are the official details:
The challenges will be issued once a fortnight, starting on Valentine's Day.
All entries will qualify, but if you use one of Stitchy's images, you get entered twice.
Winners will get to choose one of Stitchy's images for free, and the chance to be a GDT.
There will be random prizes and candy and give-aways too, so make sure you come along and follow all the fun

And to get things off to a flying start, there's a mini-challenge up already. No need to make anything, just follow, comment and guess the number of followers we'll have reached by the official opening. Go see the blog to enter!

Ok, I think that's everything, I'm bound to have forgotten something but this is all a bit new to me and I'm still getting over nerves, so be nice :P

Ever had one of those days?

This angry little kitten makes me smile so much, the image is by Mo Manning, and I first saw it on Liz's blog. So, here's my card with one kitty determined not to let a ball of wool beat him :P
I made this card with three challenges in mind:
The Get Sketchy blog is on Sketch 21

The Dare You to Digi Stamp challenge is Buttons
And the Sew Many Challenges blog is holding an "Anything Goes" challenge

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I do hope that if you are having "one of those days", tomorrow is better for you ((((hugs)))))

Birthday fairy card

I made this card this evening, with three different challenges in mind.
Firstly, there's the challenge over at the DezinaWorld blog, which is on the theme "girl" The image was a freebie available a while ago from DezinaWorld, isn't she a beauty?
The second challenge is the one at Creative Inspirations, and the theme there is "distressing". I hope digital distressing is ok, I created the background in PSP, and I really love the way it's come out. I haven't done this before, so I'm really quite chuffed with myself :D
And the third challenge is over at the C.R.A.F.T. challenge blog, which has a sketch to follow. I swapped the elements over, and put the floral element on the ribbon and used peel-off negative bits to make corners for the image.

Thanks so much for stopping by, I do hope you like this one :)
And I'm so sorry for mis-linking this, I know you guys spend more than enough time commenting on people's work, without having to search for it again. My only excuse is that I posted this just before going to bed, and must have been more tired than I realised. The proper links are up in place now, thanks for letting me know :)

Purrfect love

Hello everyone *waves* LOL, I wish I could use smilies on my posts, I've installed a lot of them on the forum and I miss them when typing elsewhere :P
Anywhooo, on to the craft challenges, I've combined a few for this piece.
Mo's Digital Challenge is a sketch this week, the Paperplay challenge is Furry Friends, the Cute Card Thursday challenge is the colour scheme pink and grey, and one of the challenges at the Creations by JJ forum is to make something pink.
The image is a digital stamp by Mo Manning, I did all the paper bits in PSP, then prinyed, cut and stuck them together, layered it onto black sparkly card, and used some brads and ribbons from my stash. (The brads are de-legged, I much prefer them that way, if I leave the legs on and stick them through they always jump around and settle down out of line with each other) The cats are also on 3D foam pads. Hope you like it, and thanks so much for stopping by :D

Vintage and Metal

Well it's been a little while since I did any papercrafting, and I decided to throw myself back into it this evening. The current challenge over at the Magical Crafts Fortnightly Challenge blog is vintage, and the challenge over at the Paperplay Challenge blog is Metal. I have, somewhere, some vintage-looking metal thingies, so I thought I could use them and combine the two challenges. But, lol, of course I can't find them now :P

The first one is an ATC and it uses an image from Dezina World (who are also sponsoring the MCFC challenge) and they do some fab images and digital ephemera, do pop along and have a look. The flower is made from faux suede and has a fancy metal centre.
And the second piece is a card, which probably fits better into both challenges as it looks more vintage-y and also has a metal butterfly as well as the metal flower centre. The image of the dog is from Art Freebies, which is another great site to visit, and June puts up all sort of vintage images there.

Apologies and knitting

Hello all, and welcome to my first post of 2010. I hope the coming year brings lots of highlights for each and every one of you :)
Now, for the apology. I'm going to stop following a lot of blogs. Basically everyone except my friends' personal blogs will be wiped from my following list, as my Dashboard is just getting so crowded and I'm worried about missing any posts from a friend. So, if your blog is a challenge blog, or a freebie blog, or a shop blog, I'm going to stop following and just visit when I want to catch up or enter a challenge. Please don't take offence, and accept my apologies. I will still be entering challenges, shopping and picking up freebies, I just don't need so many updates. Sorry!

And, like last year, I've turned into a knitting maniac since Christmas, lol, last year I thought it was because I'd just got a book, and had taught myself how to do more than scarves or blankets, but this year's been the same.
So, the pictures here are a child's hat, a jumper for me, and a pair of slipper boots to go in next year's Christmas box. Thanks so much for stopping by :)
