For the kiddies!

Today's challenge over at the Creative Card Crew blog is to make a card for a child, and we're sponsored by three of the lovely artists over at Stitchy Bear Stamps.

My first card uses the Flight of Fancy silhouette by Floppy Latte Designs, available at the Stitchy Bear Stamps shop.
I'd like to enter this one in to the following challenges:
Clean and Simple Sunday - sketch
Birthday Sundaes - spring-themed birthday card. I hope this is spring-like enough to count.
I Did It Creations - pink and purple
Crazy Challenges - sweet teens
Flutterby Wednesday - open theme with fairy butterfly or angel
Digi Stamps 4 Joy - clean and simple
Charisma Cardz - birthday for a teen
One Stop Crafts - angels and fairies
Alphabet Challenges - up in the air
Paper Crafting Journey - up in the air
City Crafter - celebrate good times (Oops, my card doesn't actually fit this challenge, it's supposed to have a banner and/or the word "party" on it. Sorry folks, I've removed the inlink thingie now :)

And my second card uses Dragonette by Barbara Jensen, also available at the Stitchy Bear Stamps shop.
For this one I'd like to enter these challenges:
Card Patterns - sketch
Diva Coffee Break Designs - plum pink and celery
Sentimental Sundays - cute and cuddly
Pile It On - cutie patootie
Paper Playtime - use a digi
Cooking It Up with Katie - animal + colourful + buttons. When I was creating, I thought a single button would work, but I think it should be more than one, so just count this as a "for fun" entry :)
Phindy's Friday Challenge - animals
Totally Papercrafts - cuddly and cute
Card Makin' Mamas - animals
Stamp It Crazy - Pepsi or a dragon
Digital Tuesday - for a child

My piece uses an image by Loston Wallace and papers by Crafty Chaos Designs.
These are the other challenges I'd like to enter:

Paper Minutes - sketch

Stars in your eyes!

It's time for another challenge with the Corrosive crew, and this week we want to see your projects that include stars somewhere. I used an image by this month's sponsor, Digis with Attitude, Rockband Tween, and papers I created just for this project. Here are the challenges I'd like to enter:
Crafty Cardmakers Spotlight Challenge - make your own bp. I made both os these papers specifically for this card, the back one has random stars in various shades of blue and white, and then I did a simple Happy Birthday text one for the panel.
The Pink Elephant - followed the sketch
Pear Tree Designs - happy birthday
Everybody Art - birthday
The Play Date Cafe - blue purple white
Charisma Cardz - birthday for a teen
Simply Create - do it yourself. I made my own paper because I didn't have one with stars in the colours I wanted, and I didn't have any that repeated the phrase "Happy Birthday" (I'd already decided that I wanted the star embellishment to say "Rock Star" in it, so I needed something that would show it was a birthday card)
My Partner in Crafting Crime - 3 or more buttons

Focus on the sentiment

Here's one I did today, because there are a few challenges that end tonight/tomorrow that I wanted to enter. The sentiment is from StampInsanity's Halloween Henry set, and the paper is from November Wine by Crafty Chaos Designs.
These are the challenges I'd like to enter:
Crafty Hos - sketch
Sentimental Sundays - focus on the sentiment
Stamptacular Sunday - focus on the sentiment
One Powerful Hour - favourite quote. Hmmm, now I don't think this is ny absolute favourite quote of all time, but I actually spent far longer than an hour on trying to decide what my "favourite" quote might be, and then I decided to just look through my stamps for a quote I wanted to use right away, and start from there. The card took about 55 minutes, phew, just made it, if you ignore all the time Googling random quotes :P
Crafts and Me - anything goes
Cupcake Craft Challenges - monochrome
Lexi's Creations - ribbons but no bows or knots. I hope lace ribbon counts :)
Catch the Bug - monochrome
Stamping Vacation - monochrome pink

Friday 25 March 2011

These are the challenges that Inspired me:
Stamping Vacation - sketch

Crafty Creations - in stitches
Three Muses - land of odd
Color Q - grape, kiwi, bermuda, pale blue (see photo)

Texture with Tellen's Place

This week at Tellen's Place we're the challenge is "Texture", so anything touchy-feely is good. Or that looks touchy-feely, if you work digitally, like me :P
And Terry's giving away another wonderful freebie with a couple of big pom-poms so you can really get into the Texture-zone :D I've used one of my favourite images from Tellen's Place, isn't she super-sassy? And I've loaded the image with different textures - lace, embossing, dimpled metal orbs, ripped paper flower, soap button in the centre, mesh, satin ribbon, tassels, a wooden frame and a roughly sanded finish on the bp.
Here are the other challenges I'd like to enter:

CR84FN - plum lavender, green (see photo)
Mojo Monday - sketch 183

Divalicious!

It's Monday, and that means it's time for a new Macabre Monday challenge over at the Haunted Design House. This week it's all about Dastardly Divas, and we have Barbara Jensen as a sponsor. Her divas are definitely dastardly!
On your project this week we want to see women who still look fabulous even when performing acts so vile and vicious that Dracula himself would blush. Lipgloss and bloodlust, it's a winning combination!
The DT were given Ivy to play with, and she's a stunner, but while I was drooling over the images in Barbara's store, I came across a link for some personal use tubes that she sells, and I just HAD to buy some. This particular minx is called Little Villain, and you can get her HERE. She is copyright to Barbara Jensen (#BJ3254) The paper and the eyeball flowers are from the Kiss of a Witch set at Crafty Chaos Designs.
Here are the challenges I'd like to enter:
Sketchy Colours - sketch
Design Dollies - create a project that celebrates YOU. Lol, I WISH I lookd like this, but the sentiment attitude is all me :P Plus I kind of love the fact that it has such a pretty delicate paper and such a non-pretty attitude. I wear long dresses all the time, lots of flowers and flowing fabrics, but that does NOT mean I'm a pretty, delicate girly-girl.
The Shabby Tea Room - Bingo. I used brads (under the image), flowers (hiding the chain attachment) and ribbons (on the heart danglies)
Terrifically Thrilling Thursday - anything goes
Sassy Studio Designs - make your own embellishment. The flower/heart danglies were created by me.
Paper Cutz Challenge - anything goes
Stamping Vacation No! No! No! challenge - no fancy borders
Creatakicious - Two tone

Just to let you know I'm thinking of you

We have a recipe challenge for you this week at Corrosive Challenges. We want you to use 3 papers, 2 ribbons and 1 image. I think my papers and image are pretty obvious, but I used two different ribbons to make the flower. This is my favourite way of making flowers at the minute, just fan out some folded ribbon pieces and stick a button or brad on top. I used to have trouble with flowers (dfon't laugh :P) but now I can make them out of small bits of ribbon and I nearly always like the way they look :) The cute doggy image is by Tiddly Inks, and the papers are from a new set I'm working on called Listening to Voices, which will be available in the Crafty Chaos Designs shop soon.
Here are the challenges I'd like to enter:
Dutch Dare - sketch
Paper Playtime - green and purple
Papertake Weekly - 3 of something. I've got 3 colours (purple, green, brown), 3 different patterned papers, 3 sqaures down the side and 3 words in the sentiment
Color Throwdown - colour combo of mustard, green, purple, espresso. When I went to look here, the swatch wouldn't load, so I went by the colours on the DT cards and I missed the mustard, sorry about that.
Card Makin' Mamas - animals
Sassy Studio Designs - make your own embellishment (flower)
2 Sisters Challenge - furry friends
Totally Papercrafts - buttons
Stamping Vacation Pick 3 - two different ribbons, green and button
The Crafty Pad - use a digi
Getting Crafty with Ann - thinking of you card
Crafty Sentiments - animals

Happy Birthday Barb!

Here's the card I made for Barb's birthday. As you may or may not know, Barb is the Masterful Mistress of the Macabre over at the Haunted Design House blog, she inspires and organises all of us lesser mortals to produce ever-more nefarious works of art. Barb is a GENIUS when it comes to colouring in and her layouts are always perfect, so the sentiment here seemed very fitting.
Barb, have a WONDERFUL day, filled with all sorts of creepy goodness and laughter! :D
The image is a fabulous tube I just bought by Barbara Jensen, Little Vampire, available HERE, and the papers are from the Kiss of a Witch set at Crafty Chaos Designs.

Alas, poor Yorick!

It's Monday, and that means it's time for the start of another week of macabre crafting mayhem for one and all over at the Haunted Design House blog. Can you guess what the theme is? Lol, I think it's pretty obvious that this week we want you to use skulls in your project. Skulls, skulls, and more skulls! Images, papers, embellishments, fragments! Use 'em if you've got 'em! I'm not sure how many skulls are in my creation, but it's quite a few, and there's even some you can't see, because the bottom frame has smaller skulls interspersed throughout the lace and some of them have been covered up by the top frame. The main skull image is from the Gothic Heart stamp by Delicious Doodles, I just masked off the heart outline and then mirrored the image for the other side.
We have the luscious Creepy Glowbugg sponsoring us this week, and she's offering the winner a $20 voucher to her fantabulous Etsy shoppe. But wait! There's more! (Can you hear the voiceover man? But since this is Macabre Monday, picture him with bugs crawling out of his eyes and blood splatter all over his face) You also get a chance to win just by visiting Glo's shop and then leaving a comment on the challenge blog. Scurry on over to feast your eyes on the goodies available :D
These are the challenges I'd like to enter: (There are a few monochrome challenges this week. Some of them specify that you can use a minimal amount of contrast colour, and some don't. If the red means this doesn't count as monochrome for your challenge then no worries, just discount the entry)

I Did It Creations - masking
Simply Create - monochrome
Digi Stamps 4 Joy - lace

He's actually a Christmas elf in disguise, I just gave him a different hat and a curly red beard :P He is of course a Tellen's Place image, and you can see many more of these beauties at Terry's Etsy shop. Holy Guacamole, and Post Pals

Woohoo, it's Thursday and we have a new challenge for you over at StampInsanity. This is our 50th challenge, and as one of Beth's frequent utterins is "Holy guacamole", that's the name of today's challenge. All you have to do is include a splash of green somewhere in your creation. Min is a very CAS card, which I don't usually do. I always love the look when other crafters do it, but I have trouble with th style. However, I'm really quite pleased with this one. The sentiment is of course, from StampInsanity, and the papers are from the Secret Forest set at Crafty Chaos Designs.
And I'd also like to draw your attention to a group called PostPals, who encourage crafters to send cards, emails or small gifts to sick children. This card has been sent to one of the older children on the list, currently waiting on a transplant. Please take a moment to read about this group and the children they help. There's a big button on my sidebar that will also take you to the site if you forget the address and this post is no longer at the top of my blog. Thanks for your time!
These are the challenges I'd like to enter:
Clean and Simple Sunday - sketch
Order of the Opus Gluei - something new. I know CAS isn't a new style for most of the crafting world, but it is for me. I'm usually allergic to blank space on my creations :P
Aly's Sunday Challenge - anything goes
Tuesday Throwdown - use those scraps. Hmmm, you don't really get scraps when you work digitally, but I hope the three small squares of paper will count.
Creative Card Crew - no flowers
Paper Playtime - digital
Craft Your Passion - anything goes
Catch the Bug - anything goes
Allsorts - a card for a teenager. Hmmm, I know this doesn't seem like a usual card for a teenager, but it is for one specific teenager who's been having medical problems.
Stamp Something - digital
Raise the Bar - sentiment but no image
Simon Says Stamp - anything goes
Stamping Vacation No! No! challenge - no flowers

Skelekinz tag

You know what Monday means, right? It's time for a new Macabre Monday challenge at the Haunted Design House blog, and this week the theme is "Body Bags and Toe Tags" We want you to create or alter a bag or tag, or use one in your creation. I went for a tag, using one of the wonderful Skelekinz digis from Bugaboo, I love their creepy-cute innocence :)
Here are the challenges I'd like to enter:
Now a few of the challenges are to either try something new or create your own embellishment, and those skulls are my qualification for both. I've been able to 3D things in PSP for a while, but I've never tried to create a 3D metal object before. However, I couldn't find just the right embellishment for this piece and none of the metal embellies I had matched the love text so they just looked odd together. So I had a play and ended up with these skulls, which I think may well end up getting a lot of use, as I love them :D
Some Odd Girl - make your own embellishment (skulls)
Creative Cottage - tag, you're it
Truly Scrumptious - followed the sketch
Tuesday Throwdown - tags
Creative Card Crew - gothic
A Spoon Full of Sugar - tags
The Crafty Pad - ribbon
Order of the Opus Gluei - new tricks (my skulls, I can do 3D metal now, yay!)
Catch the Bug - anything goes
Stamp Something - digital

Sunday 6 March 2011

Scarily green

We have another new challenge for you this week at Corrosive Challenges, and as it's a new month, we also have a new sponsor. The sponsor for March is Digis with Sttitude, so you'll see some of their fabby stamps being used by the DT throughout the month. This week's challenge is to use something green. Spring and St Patrick's Day are both approaching sat, so what better than a bright fresh card in the shades of new growth? But you know my Mojo, it's all contrary, so as soon as I heard what the challenge was, my mind went in the opposite direction. Not all fresh and spring-like, I went for something dark and threatening instead :P
The wonderful digi I used is by Andrea, aka Smusgetastic, who's in the process of setting up her new shop to sell her creations, but, being a buddy, I got to get my hands on these before they're available to mere mortals . . .I mean, the general public :P Papers are by Crafty Chaos Designs, Old Lavender set.
These are the challenges I'd like to enter:
Paper Minutes - sketch
Pollycraft - three circles

Card-Makin' Mamas - something green
Crafty Purple Frog - things with wings
Do You Stack Up - green
Really Reasonable Ribbon - ribbon/lace/trim + green
Penny's Challenges - green
Top Tip Tuesday - your favourite . . . This incorporates my favourite type of card (digital, much better for me to both create and send), my favourite colour combo (green and purple) and my favourite hobby of subverting challenges so that you get something that does follow the theme, but which is also very different from the projects that most other people will have created using the same guidelines.
Paper Playtime - anything digi
Critter Challenges - use a sentiment on the front
Sentimental Sundays - pearls and lace
